Vintage Americana Fourth of July

July 4, 2010

What better way to celebrate the Fourth of July, then with an All-American inspired backyard wedding inspiration photo shoot.  With plenty of red, white, blue, stars, and stripes that would make any president proud, you can’t help but to feel a little patriotic.

We were so excited to be able to create a Vintage Americana cookie bar for this occasion!  We got the chance to work with a top notch team of vendors who came together to make sure no detail was missed.  It was a great pleasure to be able to work with such a talented team.  Thanks to everyone’s hard work, our efforts were even celebrated on the Style Me Pretty blog so that we could share our work with all of their fabulous followers as well!  Thank you to:

What’s more American then Milk and Cookies?

A Cookies and Milk table, complete with fresh berries and whip cream!

It’s all in the details.  Patriotic flags in the berries, customized labels on the cookie jars, sodas, and milk, gorgeous floral arrangements, vintage suitcases.  It all adds to the warm fuzzy nostalgia.

Delicious create-your-own cookie sandwiches.  Thanks to Rona for the creative whip cream heart!

A festive kid’s table, including take-home cookies for the kids!  Although, we doubt they’d make it all the way home. 🙂

The gorgeous bride and handsome groom have some fun with cookie sandwiches… and a mustache…

Fresh berries and cookies filled with whip cream on a hand-made vintage plate. Yum!

A fantastic nostalgic vintage Americana table setting.

While I absolutely love the bride’s red birdcage veil, I can’t help but shamelessly plug Callie Bearie the All-American golden retriever… *my* All-American golden retriever. 😉

Wedding in a Box

March 29, 2010

I’ve been to quite a few weddings in my lifetime and after a while they all start to look the same.  I think everyone buys the “Wedding in a Box” package.  You know how it goes.  There’s always a teary speech, first dance, glass clinking, cake smashing, a bouquet toss, a garter toss, and of course the dreaded chicken dance!

The last wedding I went to was fun because instead of your typical cake smashing, they had a table of pies!  Not just one pie, but lots and lots of pie!  And instead of the typical cake smashing, the guests counted down and both the bride and groom plummeted their faces into one of the pies with their hands behind their backs.  Now that’s a way to put your personality in your wedding!

When you start planning your wedding, think about what *you* want.  Put your personality into your wedding in more ways then just different color table linens and dresses.  Break the mold and do something different!

A few unique ideas to get you started:

  • A Cookie and Cupcake Buffet: Delicious treats for everyone young and old!

  • A Photo Booth: Your guests will not only be entertained, but they’ll also be able to give you a fun message on your specials day.
  • Plantable Invitations and Thank You Cards: A great way for your guests to plant a living memory of your fun event!

What are some of your unique ideas?
